][PERSONALITY][
Lucas is a gruff guy. He doesn’t like to joke around and is almost always serious. He doesn’t like to talk a lot and brushes harsh comment off as if he didn’t hear them. He isn’t quick to anger, but when he’s mad you’ll know. Lucas believes in justice very much so and often beats up assholes who do cruel things. He isn’t afraid to talk tough and won’t back down from a challenge unless it’s a stupid one. Lucas isn’t interested in flirting and ignores flirty girls altogether. He seems very sturdy to anyone looking at him. Yet sometimes he has blackouts for no reason and he is plagued by nightmares. He doesn’t seem to like nighttime either.
The Mask of Dyraeus
The reason for this? The truth lies in his head. A man named Dyre haunts him from the first time he wore the Mask of Dyraeus. What is the mask? It is a legendary relic which is said to made of the skull of Dyraeus himself. The mask itself is a skull with a large scar on it, running diagonally between the eye sockets. It is bound together with leather straps. But who is Dyraeus? From Lucas’ home country, he was said to be the god of war and death. Supposedly, he was able to wipe out civilizations with no effort at all. After decades of this feared god, he was finally brought down by a sorcerer. His skull was made in mask for the spell caster who defeated him, who also became the king of the land. But the true mistake they made was realized when the king burst into rage, killing everyone who got close to him. He was finally killed and with his dying breaths he said “Dyraeus… possession…” Then he slipped away. It was figured out the spirit of Dyraeus still inhabited the skull and drug anyone’s mind into his control when they wore the mask. By doing so the actual person ‘died’ and Dyraeus took over. The god’s true form was never known by the wearer though. He took on their appearance but with a large scar on his face like the one on the skull. Dyraeus gave them inhanced reflexes, speed, and strength. But he wouldn’t bother to dodge any strike thrown at him. He gives the user the ability to heal faster than a usual person as well. It didn’t matter if the user was killed or not because Dyraeus would live forever inside the skull. Realizing the danger of the mask, the king’s men buried the mask away in an old underground temple that had been dedicated to the cruel god.
It remained there until it was found by an unknowing general.

][HISTORY][
Lucas was a young child once, one that dreamed of doing his country proud by being in their army. He wanted to make his father proud, who was a high general. But Lucas wasn’t exactly a ‘love child’, he was born because of a one night stand. But he would prove his existence to his father by becoming a general himself. As soon as he was old enough to join the army he did so. At 18 years old, having been in training for two long years, he want to a large reception for all the soldiers who had finished their training. They would be talked to by the king, and his four top generals. Upon going up to get a handshake from them all, as was tradition, Lucas had an outburst. He kept telling his father that he was his child, which the general, of course, denied. Speaking of his mother, Lucas realized he seemed very angry. He knew he had that one night stand, but disapproved of this bastard child running his mouth off. It was going to give him a bad rap. After being dragged off by a guard, Lucas realized his father wasn’t the honorable man he always thought he was. He wished he had never joined the army.
Lucas was then placed into a platoon and continued training. This was where he became friends with a young woman named Eden. The two of them were considered the best soldiers in their platoon. Quickly working their way up in ranks, Lucas became a general, well a co-general, as age 24, making him one of the youngest to get to that rank. Eden became his co-general. The two commanded a platoon together because the king did not like leaving ones as young as them in charge by themselves.
But soon, war broke out. It was a grand war with the smaller country to their south. Lucas and Eden took the platoon and were ordered to scout out an area around a town close to the border. It was suspected they were hiding arms for their country’s soldiers. Lucas went on his own and left Eden in charge of guarding their small camp while he would see if there were any enemy squads around. But he came across something much more powerful. By Lucas’ era, the gods were considered foolish legend. And the tale of the Mask of Dyraeus was no exception. Lucas wandered about the desert like area for a short time before becoming lost. He thought himself to be so stupid. But then he stumbled upon a hole, with a staircase the led underground. It looked like it had been sealed with a stone tablet, but it was eroded away by the ever blowing sand. Slowly, Lucas went down into the darkness.
Meanwhile, Eden kept the troops hidden, but was becoming increasingly worried that Lucas has gotten killed or captured. Blinded by the feelings she held for him, Eden commanded the troops to move out to move to the town. Once in the town though, they were ambushed by soldiers who had hidden themselves there, just waiting for the fools to come. Eden realized how stupid she was, but there was no choice but to fight then. So they did so.
Back to Lucas, he had walked down what seemed to be a million stairs. Until he came into a dark room. He couldn’t see a foot in front of him, but, strangely, a torch was burning over a marble box, which had been lined with gold. On the top of the box was an ancient text, which Lucas simply ignored. Well he was lost might as well come back with something. Opening the box he looked at the old skull, which looked like it was ready to turn into dust. Grabbing the skull out of the box, he stared and snorted. Well that was a waste of time. But then, he felt like someone was aging him on, to put the skull on. Shrugging, Lucas figured he might as well. That’s when his life changed forever.
He blacked out and awoke in his subconscious. In front of him was a man, identical to him but his eyes were a bright red and a scar was on his face. Lucas yelled, asking where he was. The man simply replied, “I think I’ll like it here… you know Luky, you’re the only one who hasn’t died from wearing my skull. I think I’ll stay here. Oh, by the way Lucas, I’m Dyre.” Dyre was the ‘human’ form of the ancient god Dyraeus. Lucas then black out again, and Dyre was in control. Swiftly running at an un-human speed, Dyre ran out and toward the town.
Eden’s troops were getting killed fast and they were badly outnumbered. But then, someone was there. It was the General Lucas, yet he wore a skull upon his face. Eden was confused, but didn’t really care, at least she had some back up. But Dyre’s true nature was yet to be shown. He didn’t use swords or any other weapon, just melee combat. He dart between enemies, cracking skulls open, breaking necks, and tearing throats apart. Soon, the whole enemy squad was killed. Then Lucas collapsed, the mask fell off. He slowly rose to his feet and looked at a platoon of his remaining soldiers who seemed scared out of their wits. Eden was shocked but quickly ignored it and sprang to his side. That’s when everything Dyre had done rushed to his mind. Horrified with his actions, he looked around the town. Not only had he killed the enemies, he had killed all the innocent townsfolk, and a few of his own men.
None of his men ever looked him in the eye again. Eden was happy for their victory though. And when word got to the king of this amazing event, he upped Lucas to a top general. He replaced his own father who had been demoted after the king witnessed the outburst of Lucas. He was only 26. The war ended quickly, within a year of Lucas’ promotion. Lucas figured if he never wore that mask it would never happen again. But the nightmares quickly came, and Dyre was still in his head. At the age of 27, Lucas ran away from the capitol and took up residence in a small spec of a village on the borders. But even there he had no relief. A group of bandits kidnapped a small boy. The town had no offenses and were about to give into the bandits demands, that’s when Dyre made his second appearance. After killing the bandits, Lucas forced Dyre to stop. He ran away from the village, not facing them after the gruesome event he had caused. Lucas then realized what he’d use Dyre for. He’d help the helpless, and become a vigilante.
He’s been doing until his current age.
