Rathys is (was) a working boy and looks it. His hands are rough and callosed; his clothing isn't designer brand, and he doesn't hesitate to jump into a job. The kid is tall, but no one really knows his exact age because he lies about it over and over (he's 15 in one town and 18 in the next). He looks scottish, especially in the face, and has a very untamable mess of shaggy hair that he hides with a hat when he can help it. His clothing changes, though he always wears a 'borrowed' trucker's jacket (the name tag says Rasheede). He's known to get cuts and bruises and not remember where they came from.
In his were form, he's lanky and fast looking. He lacks the classic over bulked muscles most werewolves are assosciated with, but he's no short on agression. The fur turns a complete reddish brown and canines are too large for his mouth, which cause his lip and gums to mold into them through cuts and overhealing. The eyes are bright green and more 'cat like' then wolf.
Rathys is a nice guy who doesn't want to cause any trouble. While he does have the classic hot headed tendencies of the Irish, he withholds himself until the point of bursting. He bottles things up and doesn't like letting people see when he's bothered, and trust me when I say that this is not the best thing for his health. He tends to take a lot of responciblity upon himself because of his 'big brother' nature and he harbors alot of guilt- while he'll insist he's optimistic, he's actually a very pessimistic person, at least when he veiws himself. He knows life is hard and refuses to believe there's an easy way to anything, which causes him to over complicate alot of things. In a way, he relys on his transformation (which he's in denial about) to unleash restrained stream, which is probably why he's so amazingly violent as a were.
He grew up on a ranch in western Pennsylvania, along with his two parents, litte brother Pete, and wolf hound Wolf. Rathys' life concisted mainly of chores, though he never complained about it and would happily lend a hand to his dad- it was just too much work to make one person do. He was as active in school as he could be without it interfering with his homelife, and he was a basic rolemodel to his brother. The boy was bitten at night when they heard something in the hen coop, and since they assumed it was a fox or a raccoon, Rathys went out with a shot gun and ended up face to face with the biggest dog he ever did see. It's teeth hit his left shoulder and it took off. Of course, everyone logically assumed it was a coyote or lone wolf and it was passed of easily. Rathys had the wound dressed and they went on with their lives.
A few months later, Rathys began to notice he was loosing his temper more and more, teetering off his edge at even the slightest thing. He assumed it was hormonal imbalences or something crazy like that, a GROWTH spur or something else equally as rediculous. He started snapping at his parents, his brother, even treating his DOG badly. His grades slipped, his chores slacked- he was in a nasty rut. One day, on a full moon, he hit the peek. He woke up naked on the side of the road, unable to remember how he got there or what he was doing. Infact, he didn't even know WHERE he was and it took him HOURS to stumble home. Thankfully, he got home before anyone woke up. This occured every month, and while he got the connections, Rathys refused to believe something so insane. He hid it, as always.
During the summer, his dog contracted rabies from a stray cat. No one knew. A week after the initial bite, the dog attacked his little brother, and at the same time, Rathys was running wild through the woods. He happened upon his brother and instantly assumed he was the one who did it. Horrorfied, he ran him, packed as lightly and quickly as he could, and left home. He assumed that his parents and everyone else would reject him. What he didn't know was that his brother was very much alive and that his dad had shot the dog. Pete recovered in the hospital, but Rathys thinks he's rotting in a coffin. He's been hitchhiking and traveling ever since, not having a set direction, and paranoid because he thinks people are after him. In truth, people ARE looking for him. His family, at first, though he was killed by the dog, but then his mother saw him on passing during a live news cast. They knew (or thought they knew) that their son was not the type to run away, so they assumed he was kidnapped. Rathys really does have cops after him, just not for the reasons he thinks.
