Name: Music
Alias: Moosic
Age: 1.5
Gender: Male
Species: Grey Wolf
Height: 2' 6''
Weight: Lighter than average
Rank: No rank, Loner
Parents: Segei (father), Reca (mother)
Siblings: None
Mate: None
Friends: None Yet
Sexuality: Not old enough yet
Appearance
Music has fur that is a color somewhere between gray and brown, a mix between his parent’s fur colors. He has dark brown eyes. His paws are a lighter color than the rest of his fur and the ends of his fur taper off into the same light color. He is not a particularly strong wolf, nor is he huge enough to constitute a major threat. He can run faster than an average wolf however, due to his increased lung capacity from singing.
Personality
Music is very naïve because he hasn’t met many wolves in his life, save for his parents, or had enough experience to know otherwise. He believes in the good of all things and that justice will always prevail. It is this idea that is his tragic flaw; he sometimes is more concerned with doing what he thinks is right rather than the intelligent thing to do. He also tends to give wolves his trust far too easily, not knowing any better.
Music would rather avoid fights, knowing from experience that he tends to lose. Unfortunately, he cannot lie well enough or mask his emotions completely enough to avoid conflict and disagreements do sometimes result from his naivety.
History
Music was born the only son of his parent’s first litter of pups. Segei and Reca had hoped to start a large family, but were disappointed to only have one child. Despite this, they vowed to protect and raise their son the best way they knew how.
Music formed strong ties with his parents early in his life and was very happy in the forest where he lived. He always knew that no matter what happened, his parents would be beside him. The thought was very comforting to him and kept him close to his family.
Music grew up naturally curious about the world around him and could be frequently found exploring the forests around his home. Reca was constantly worried about her son’s wandering. Despite constantly trying to keep Music in check, she could never seem to get him to stay in one place for a long period of time.
One day in summer, while he was observing a particularly fascinating fern on the ground, Music heard a strange noise coming from the distance. It was a howl. Music had heard his parents howl a few times before that moment, but he hadn’t paid any attention to the noise. His parents were unconcerned with how it sounded when they made noise. This sound was different. This one was long, wavering, and… indescribably beautiful. The sound seemed to float on air, carried through the winds by it’s own sheer beauty. Music didn’t know who had howled, or why, but it didn’t matter. He howled back. But he didn’t do so just once; he kept howling for many hours, entertaining himself by playing with the magical new reverberations he found he could almost effortlessly create.
Music became obsessed with the idea of sounds. He would listen to songbirds and try to imitate the music they made. Harmonizing with his own echo was a routine practice. He would sit still for hours to listen to the natural noise around him, reveling in the noises made. Music knew he had found what he was meant to do in life.
Soon, his first birthday came and went, and Music was overtaken by a severe case of wanderlust. He wanted to see the world and learn more about it. He believed that because he only had one life, that he should make the best of it. He began to make plans to leave his parents and the forest he grew up in, to see the world in its entirety.
Worry was consuming Reca and Segei though. Music was becoming increasingly harder to keep from roving, and they feared that soon something awful might happen. Out of concern for their only son, they decided that he would not be allowed to leave the forest.
The morning Reca and Segei were to tell Music that he was not to leave anymore, Music decided to let them know of his plans to travel.
Many heated words and unhappy tears later, Music ran away from his home, ashamed of his parents for not supporting his ideas, as he had always believed they would, and ashamed of himself for not listening to the wolves he trusted. He ran for hours until the sun began to set. Totally exhausted and mentally drained, Music collapsed on the forest floor and silently fell asleep.
Music has never looked back from that moment and continues on his wanderings, searching for nature’s beauty and sounds.
