Personality:
History: He was born in Nagoya, Japan. He lived there until he was 5 years old, and then his family, including himself, his parents, and his older sister, moved to an apartment in Tokyo. There he met his good friend, Tsuyou, in the 2nd grade of elementary school. They remained friends through middle school and into high school, and during their first year in high school, met up with Yukio Hashanawa, introduced to them by Nakiko, Riki's older sister. Yukio was, at the time, a skilled base player, and the three formed a band with Nakiko's urging, Yukio as the base player, Tsuyou as lead, and Riki as the vocalist.
They were offered a contract deal by their 3rd year of high school, and were quickly taken in by one of the major record dealers of Japan. Their first CD was a hit, and they became famous almost instantly. It was around the time their CD reached the top 10 when the accident happened. It left both of Riki's parents hospitalized, with little hope of getting better. They died within a week of the accident.
Riki went into a depression afterwards, which lasted for 3 months. He finally managed to pull himself out with the help and encouragement of his friends, and they finally started up the band again. They continued on, touring over Japan, singing in concert, and releasing a second, and later a third CD. Finally, 5 years after they started the band, around 2 months til his 24th birthday, he decided that he needed a break. He moved to a small town north of Nagoya and rented a small apartment there, and stayed there for 10 months, taking a small job at a nearby cafe in the process. He wasn't as well-known here, but occasionally a fan would come in and recognize him. At the end of those 10 peaceful, lazy months, he recieved a call from Yukio, and was told they were offered another tour deal through the country. A few weeks later, they were once again on the road, a band once more, and for the next half year they gave concerts through various parts of Japan.
With 4 months til his 25th birthday, he began wanting to go somewhere else than his home country. Japan was small, and he found himself pondering over the vastness and uniqueness of the United States. He soon found himself studying their language, and trying desperately to learn the strange customs. On his 25th birthday, he announced a want to go to America to his friends and sister. They strongly encouraged him, and next thing he knew, his manager had heard of the wish, and his company was soon offering him a chance to meet an American label company head to see about arranging the sale of their CDs in America, in English. He jumped at the opportunity, and within a month was on a plane headed for NEw York, New York.
