((I SWEAR I DIDN'T FORGET ABOUT THIS PLACE, HI.))
Get into town? Check.
Find a place to sleep? Check - Homeless Shelter.
Make friends? Check - crazy homeless guy and crazy girl looking for her room mate.
Get a job? Uhhh...
Luyu yawned, stretching her thin frame upwards as she plodded along the sidewalk. It was morning - early morning, for her, at about 8AM - and she was out with a purpose. Dressed in a decent, blue blouse and some slacks, the girl looked like she was on her way to some type of business meeting.
Today was the day that she was going to find somewhere to work, so she could get a paycheck, so she could stop living in a youth hostel/sanctuary from old drunks. Yep, that was her plan.
Until, of course, she got lost. ... Again. She'd found herself in what looked like an industrial area, with some run-down apartments and even more run-down buildings and cars. ...Well, shit. What now?
"Uhm... excuse me, but can y-" the woman she was attempting to get directions from shook her head, quickly shuffling off into a nearby doorway. Al...right then. Her next few tries didn't work out too well, either. She heaved a frustrated sigh.
"Can somebody tell me WHERE the hell I am right now?"

((Mind if I join?))
Since Maximus almost NEVER had enough money to live in a decent place, he lived in the run down part of the neighborhood. His only companion was a small, overly protective Boston Terrier. Though he was happy he lived alone, well except for the dog that is. The freckle faced redhead was usually working at this hour, but they gave him a day off when they seen his black eye. Yeah, fights weren't fun right before work but the smart ass had voiced his own opinion in someone else's business so you could only guess what happened. The black eye, his right eye, was still clear as day and the band-aid across his left cheek also told the story of his fight.
As Maximus continued walking home with his dog, he noticed a lady trying to get directions. He chuckled to himself a bit. Did this lady think most people around here were nice to strangers? Apparently she must have thought that much. He had reached his own home and opened the door, his dog quickly ran inside but Maximus turned his head as he heard the lady scream.
"Can somebody tell me WHERE the hell I am right now?"
"Need some help?" he hollered her way, wondering if he was going to get a response or not. If he didn't, he'd just walk inside. Yet if he did get a reply, he'd call his dog out and then walk her way and see really quickly what she wanted.

"Need some help?"
Someone had called to her. The brunette turned around, finally settling her gaze on a freckled redhead standing a doorway - probably his house. She smiled relievedly, taking a few paces toward him and brushing a bit of hair out of her pale face. Okay, so, randomly trying to talk to people on the street probably wasn't a good idea. But at least this guy answered.
"Yeah, actually... Could you tell me how to get to Bryer's Electronics from here?" That was one of her first stops she had to make this morning - interviews, applications, and everything else all for entry-level jobs. She grinned sheepishly, exposing abnormally sharp canines. "I'm willing to bet I'm a looong way from the street I'm supposed to be on, huh?"

Max had watched as the lady turned around, his green eyes watching and making sure his dog was right behind him. He chuckled mentally at the thought of her hollering. Hell he would never do that, he'd probably turn redder than his hair unless he didn't care that people might stare at him.
"Yeah, actually... Could you tell me how to get to Bryer's Electronics from here?"
His thoughts were interrupted when the lady asked him a question. He gave a lopsided smile. "I'm not good at giving directions, but I can show you since I have to head to a place near there." he said politely, then watched as his dog an up to her, and barked playfully at her. He chuckled slightly. "Looks like he likes yah." he said, now much closer to her and farther from his home. "Name's Max." he said, giving her his most common nickname and not his real one.
"I'm willing to bet I'm a looong way from the street I'm supposed to be on, huh?"
He perked a brow when he notice her canines. He couldn't help but think, vampire? Though he never believed in stuff like that, though this lady could pass for one. "Yeah, you are actually." he said, wondering what she was going to say about his question. Though she may be brunette, Maximus couldn't tell. It sucks when your color blind.

He was smiling. That was a good sign.
"I'm not good at giving directions, but I can show you since I have to head to a place near there."
Before she could answer, a Boston Terrier shot out of his doorway, running its tiny little self up to her and barking. Kadf;alkdsjfsdfasd~~~ she looked a bit surprised at first, but with his owner's encouraging statement, slid down to a squat so she could give him a scratch behind the hears. Neither of them could know that, while she loved dogs in general, little dogs freaked her the hell out. But, despite its creepy bug-eyes, he seemed friendly, so he deserved as much fawning over as any dog did.
She rose back up, nodding to his statement and previous question. "Cute dog, Max. My name's Luyu - sorry I didn't mention that earlier," she wrapped a pale hand around the back of her neck, a subtle sign of embarrassment. Living with crazy people = loss of manners. Yes. Oh, right, getting ot the store. "Yes, please, that would be a ton of help. I'm due for an interview there soon..."

The little dog accepted the scratch behind the ears with a slight moving of his foot. He loved attention.
"Cute dog, Max. My name's Luyu - sorry I didn't mention that earlier,"
The smiled hadn't faltered at all when Luyu spoke. "Thanks Luyu, and it's alright. We all forget sometimes." he said lightly. He actually forgot things like that quite often. It's a wonder he remembered that even when a lady was around. Ah well, it didn't matter. He did it now, might do it later or her might not. He noticed she looked a bit embarrrassed, but didn't say anything in response.
"Yes, please, that would be a ton of help. I'm due for an interview there soon..."
He nodded, then started walking the way they needed to go. "Follow me. We'll cha on the way to pass the time I guess." a light smile was on his face, and his dog had run to lay down on the steps of his home and went to sleep. He walked a bit ahead of her, but turned and waited. He was making sure she would follow.
