Hi, welcome to Free-For-All. As a little intro to our little oasis here, Obi and I are going to give you the low-down on our laws.
Because this is a very open forum, we're going to let people make their own rules for their own rps. HOWEVER, there's some basics EVERYONE needs to follow. Period. No arguing. No questioning. No complaining. EVER. We also reserve the right to add more if we see the need too (in other words, if there's a problem that could be corrected by adding another).
1. Respect the rules of the person who created the rp thread. If they say 'only characters who wear blue underwear may be posted' then you have to obey it. If you don't like their rules, then do not join it (unless they demand something nasty and offensive, which would be really weird, but report it to a mod, and we'll beat them up.)
2. Respect the staff. We're not out to get you guys; we're just people. The whole reason we made this forum is because we wanted to rp at leisure and with any genre we felt like, so obviously we aren't different from you.
3. Don't flame people, seriously. Internet drama is stupid and dumb and oddly stressful, so lets try to avoid it, ok? But make no mistake, the mods are not here to baby you and will not be bothered with 'someone told me they wouldn't commission me because my line work isn't amazing' or a similar complaint.
4. If your rp has R or NC-17 content, ask a mod to move it to a private section or you take it to PMs. I don't think you'd want your boss/teacher/mom/grandma catch you read something questionable. We want virgin eyes to remain as such.
5. No powerplaying. Unless you have permission, but you probablly don't.
6. No godmoding. This refers to playing as if your character is all-powerful and invincible. They're not. And if they were that'd be moronic. So don't do it
7. Do not steal art. Stealing is for JERKFACES. This includes pictures, writings, poems and any other form of expression.
8. PLAY NICE OR ELSE.
9. I'll be honest; I expect Mary Sues. It's impossible to avoid them. HOWEVER, we can try to help the person develop the character so it doesn't become a drag on our amazing rp society. Don't whine and complain about them, just try and help the person realize that no character is that perfect. Nicely. As in, without torches, pitchforks, tommy guns or battery acid. Rotten fruit is acceptable though.
10. Keep the snarl-roar arguments, heated debates and so on in a PM (private message). We aren't going to lock and move threads if a little disagreement breaks out, but if offensive things are said then we'll do something about it.
11. When making the rules for your rp, make sure to tell them if magic/weird creatures are allowed or not. There's probably going to be alot of characters like that here, so keep it in mind.
12. Not really a rule but... if an rp is dying and you want to revive it, you can ask a mod to come and post some random element for your characters to react to. Such as 'The pot suddenly caught fire!' or 'a storm started outside and lightning killed the power!'. Make sure to be specific with what you DON'T want to happen though. And be nice when asking.
13. Please don't have two story tall or anaconda long signatures- big images make the forum run slower, especially for dial-up users. 300-400x600 pixels is a good size.
14. Do NOT drag ooc drama into rp. I have no problems with oocly planned plots, relationships and whatever, but you have no right to abuse whatever 'ic power' you have because of your social issues.
